Chris Smith

A graduate of Hendersonville High School, Chris has a B.A. degree in Mass Communication from UNCA. Smith participated in baseball, basketball, football, golf and cross country in high school before concentrating on baseball at the collegiate level. Chris, who also served one year as Mars Hill College’s Sports Information Director and Assistant Baseball Coach, enjoys volunteering as a reading and math tutor at local elementary schools and speaking to area civic groups and college students.

He is a member of the University of North Carolina’s Educational Foundation and both the Asheville Chamber of Commerce and the Hendersonville Chamber of Commerce. Chris serves as a member of the Junior Achievement of Western North Carolina’s Board of Directors and also serves as a Community Advisory Board Member for the Junior League of Asheville. Chris is also a member of the Project Assist Coalition Task Force Group.

Chris and his wife, Tracy, live in Fairview with their daughter, Pali (7), and son, Zach (4). They are often found in Chapel Hill cheering for their beloved Tar Heels.
