Laura Shiver

As the Program Coordinator for Leadership Asheville, Laura has the opportunity to participate in the design and implementation of programs for Leadership Asheville.  She is the go to girl. 

Prior to joining the Leadership Asheville office, Laura was with Children First of Buncombe County first as an AmeriCorps volunteer and then as the developer of Youth Leadership Asheville.  Her areas of expertise include civic engagement, youth leadership development, and service-learning. 

Laura attended Rollins College, a small liberal arts college in central Florida, where she studied sociology, communications, and women’s studies. She believes that building honest, meaningful relationships is one of the keys to creating healthy communities at any level.
