Angela Nixon

Gerry GoertzAngela is the newest member of the Leadership Asheville staff. She and her husband, Bryan, recently moved to the Asheville area from Seattle, Washington where she attended Mars Hill Graduate School and received a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology. While in her graduate studies, Angela also worked as a facilitator for a bi-annual school-hosted conference called The Leadership Crucible.

Angela is fascinated by group dynamics and specializes in teaching communication skills, self-assessment tools, awareness of self and others, conflict management, plan implementation, and time management skills.

Angela believes that leadership involves honoring the yesterday, empowering the today, and planning for the future. She believes it is through relationship and authenticity that a person becomes a leader and a group becomes a team.

As an undergraduate, Angela attended a small, private liberal arts university in Anderson, Indiana where she double-majored in Psychology and Family Science and participated in as many musicals and operas as she could!

In her free time, Angela enjoys spending time with her husband, movie-going, playing card games with friends, reading great American classics, thumbing through decorating magazines, and learning the ins and outs of her new town!
