Alice Briggs

Alice has over eight years of non-profit and private sector community development experience through her work in real estate, charitable giving and community relations.  Currently serving as Director of Marketing for the Economic Development Coalition for Asheville-Buncombe County (EDC), she plays a key role in identifying and supporting business development efforts within the region.  A community service champion, Alice has a long history of serving on numerous non-profit agency boards, always contributing towards progress in issues such as services for the disabled, at-risk youth, early childhood development, career education, technology cluster development, and advocating for women and children.   She is also a board member and volunteer for the Junior League of Asheville, where she assists with the development of leadership skills in women, and was awarded the Woman to Watch award in 2008.  Alice is the recipient of the 2009 Jack Ervin Scholarship through the North Carolina Economic Developers Association and is working towards her accreditation as a Certified Economic Developer through the International Economic Development Council.  A life learner, she studies the cello and is working towards achieving her private pilot’s license.
