Community Trustee Award
In 2011, we introduced the Community Trustee Award, given at our Annual Luncheon. This inaugural award recognized Richard Hurley as a LA Graduate who exhibits active, caring commitment to our entire community. Over the next month, we want to hear your nominations for the next Community Trustee Award (2012). We will recognize the award winner at our Annual Luncheon in September.

LA 30 Class Project:
Seeds of Tomorrow!
On Thursday, May 17, the LA 30 class completed their class project by hosting a community summit and information fair titled “Seeds of Tomorrow: Exploring Innovative Out-of-School Learning” at UNC-Asheville’s Highsmith University Union. The summit featured over 30 speakers and panelists, including keynote speaker Candy Markman, Planning Director of the Mayor’s After School Initiatives in Nashville.
