Catch the Buzz!
We’ve got innovation cornered in Asheville, as clearly demonstrated by this amazing panel of young business owners! Each one had their own compelling story of trial by fire and early success that traced back to the passion they each have for their work. We look forward to seeing how the long-time business owners echo similar lessons learned as they share their own stories at our final Buzz event of 2014. See you August 12th for the panel discussion on Secrets of Enduring Businesses as facilitated by Gwen Wisler, Asheville City Council member and former CEO of The Coleman Company!

Congratulations LA 32!
Leadership Asheville’s 32nd class celebrated their graduation with a final program day this week at the Crest Center in Asheville. We were honored to hear the keynote address from Karen Tessier (LA 5) who inspired us with her stories encouraging civic engagement and community development. Other highlights from the day included small group discussions with local topic area experts including Holly Jones (LA 16) speaking about local government, Sharon West (LA 26) addressing issues in health care, and Joe Minicozzi talking about economic development. Finally, the group presented the outcomes of their team projects and then celebrated their completion with a cocktail reception. Congratulations again LA 32!
